Deepened partnership: Xiangsheng and Siempelkamp sign new contract for a super strength particleboard line
In addition to the signatories of the three participating companies, representatives from politics and other leading personalities also took part in the festive ceremony. During this ceremony, Pang Zansong, President of Xiangsheng, congratulated Siempelkamp on the leading position of its plants and technologies – a factor with persuasive power that motivated Xiangsheng to the current second project. In September 2020, the Chinese company ordered its first Siempelkamp particleboard plant, which has an annual capacity of 300,000 m3. Both partners assured to transfer the successes of the first joint project to the second one – e.g. the early completion and fast start-up on schedule. "Super strength" as a distinctive feature of the new particleboard plant means that the core layer of the boards processes flakes that are twice as long as usual. This achieves a significantly higher bending strength.
"It is a great honor for us to support Xiangsheng again as a partner and to assist this leading Chinese particleboard producer with our technologies and experience. Together we are joining forces in this project to further expand Xiangsheng's position in China and Southeast Asia," says Kosta Karakolidis, CEO of Siempelkamp Qingdao.
The scope of supply comprises the core components and the entire process technology of a wood-based panel plant. This includes the latest generation of knife ring flakers, automated setting and sharpening robots, a knife ring washing cabin, also dryers, drum screens, double stream mills, oscillating screens, blenders, and the forming and press line with the continuous ContiRoll® Generation 9i.
The new particleboard plant is scheduled to go into operation in the first quarter of 2025. It will produce high-quality, customized chipboard in a thickness range from 8 to 40 mm in various specifications and sizes, tailored to market and customer demand. The particleboard panels are used in high-quality household furniture, lightweight wooden doors and wooden structure houses, among other things.
