Partnership-based cooperation in EDI order processing with Egger and Sonae Arauco

Efficiency and partnership mean an optimal cost-benefit ratio for our customers. The continuous further development and expansion of the sales cooperation form the foundation for positive future business development of the Siempelkamp Service Excellence Initiative.

One example of this constant optimization is our cooperation with the Sonae Arauco Group, which we present here:

 

Optimizing order processing and logistics with Sonae Arauco

With the Sonae Arauco Group, Siempelkamp Logistics & Service GmbH (SLS) has gained another key player in the wood-based materials industry as a partner for EDI order processing. The Sonae Arauco Group and SLS team worked intensively for around a year to prepare for the successful go-live in January 2024

 

Product range consists of over 4,000 item

SLS is listed as a preferred supplier in Sonae Arauco’s ERP system, based around SAP/ARIBA. The product range consists of over 4,000 items from renowned manufacturers such as Festo, Siemens, Bosch, SEW and others - and the trend will continue to grow.

Miguel Hemsworth, Sonae Arauco’s Key Category Manager for MRO, states that one of the key factors for successful management of MRO materials is to minimize administrative costs associated with the purchasing process, through automation.

“When purchasing high-turnover MRO materials, the purchasing administrative costs often exceed the costs of the items being purchased. By focusing on improving Material Master Data accuracy and automating the purchasing process, we are able to substantially reduce costs, while at the same time encouraging a closer relationship with one of our key partners.”

The regular order stream resulting from this integrated approach have helped reduce delivery costs and environmental impact, by allowing SLS to plan consolidated weekly deliveries to Sonae Arauco plants.

These implementations clearly show how close cooperation creates a win-win situation for all parties. Used on both the customer and supplier side, we achieve reductions in process costs - one of the many components that enable us to provide what you expect from us.
